Meet owner Gayle Weisfield. Embracing Taos comes naturally to Gayle as a Western Artist. Growing up ranching and farming, she thrives on hard work. As a child, Gayle took her natural ability and learned everything that she could about watercolor painting and art. It became her profession, artist and teacher of art.

Behind each bold Weisfield painting is an interesting story that inspires her work – when you’ve lived a life of roping, riding, and wrangling, there is a constant stream of stories to be painted. She works primarily with transparent watercolor in a style she describes as “realistic impressionism.”

In Taos, surrounded by beautiful cliffs, free roaming livestock, soaring mountains, and expressive skies, Gayle can explore inspirational landscapes at any time.

Combining her passion for watercolor with teaching, Gayle has instructed thousands of artists in her craft. She has traveled the world hosting watercolor workshops, but after an extensive renovation of her adobe home, she took on another adobe perfect for her artist studio and the New Western Skies Gallery in Taos.

Gayle’s work is shown at the Eiteljorg Museum as a “Quest for the West” Artist. Learn more about Gayle, her workshops, exhibits and more at: Gayle Weisfield Western Art.
